IRVING, Texas – Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne won't be playing Sunday in New Orleans. The former LSU standout is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered Oct. 27 in Detroit.

The 2012 first-round pick said Wednesday that he "definitely" expects to be back after the team's bye week when they travel to face the New York Giants on Nov. 24.

In his absence, the Cowboys will likely go with Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick in the starting lineup and rookie B.W. Webb in nickel situations.

"I did some running today," Claiborne said. "It's still a little tight. It's just something you have to continue doing what you can do and keep getting treatment for it."

Claiborne said he thinks getting more treatment and the extra time off during the bye week will be beneficial to his recovery.

In eight games, Claiborne has five pass deflections, one interception and 23 tackles.
