EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Christian Ponder finally got his long-awaited kiss.
Oh, who are we kidding? He's probably had plenty over the past year from his bride.
Samantha Ponder, an ESPN college football reporter, revealed the Halloween outfits for her and Christian, the Minnesota Vikings' quarterback, on Twitter Tuesday. The NFL quarterback dressed up, as best as he could, as the diminutive baseball player "Squints" and Samantha was dressed as lifeguard Wendy Peffercorn from the movie "The Sandlot".
In the famous scene from the movie, "Squints" stole a kiss from Peffercorn after being rescued from the water in the local pool.
"Did you plan that Squints?" "Course I did. Been plannin it for years," Samantha Ponder wrote on her Twitter page.
Christian Ponder didn't really need years to plan his approach on his "Wendy Peffercorn."
He acted quickly when he met his future wife, who was Samantha Steele at the time, on the set of ESPN's "College GameDay" in the summer of 2012, and the two were married in Hudson, Wis., a few months later.
