Shin-Soo Choo is not in the lineup Monday night for the Cincinnati Reds as they begin a three-game series in San Diego.
The center fielder hurt his left ankle sliding into second base in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon and is being held out as a precaution.

Derrick Robinson is starting in centerfield and batting leadoff in Choo's place.

Cesar Izturis is batting second and playing second base in place of Brandon Phillips, who received a day off from manager Dusty Baker in order to recoup some rest he might have missed during the All-Star break.

Baker moved right fielder Jay Bruce into the cleanup slot customarily filled by Phillips.
