Chinese basketball team fights fans following finals game

BY foxsports • March 17, 2016

The Chinese Basketball Association has been growing like crazy over the last few years.

They might be growing some actual crazy too.

In an incident that can only properly be compared to the infamous "Malice at the Palace" in 2004, members of the Liaoning Flying Leopards brawled with fans of the Sichuan Blue Whales outside a Chengdu hotel Wednesday.

"There was no security staff to maintain order when our players got off the bus," Liaoning manager Yan Xiaoming told Liaoning Television Station, according to ShanghaiDaily.com.

"After the conflict started, some Sichuan fans attacked the fathers of two of our players, Guo Ailun and He Tianju. The players hit back when they saw their fathers being assaulted."

The video is pretty intense — and it features former NBA player Lester Hudson.

China has seen a few basketball brawls in recent years.

Earlier this year, Jason Maxiell and Michael Beasley were involved in this brouhaha.

In 2011, Georgetown brawled with a pro team on a goodwill trip that went horribly wrong.

Liaoning is down 2-1 in the seven-game CBA Finals series, with another game to play in Chengdu (the capital of Sichuan) before they can bolt town.

Perhaps you have new plans at 9 a.m. Eastern Friday.
