Ohio State received good news on the eve of National Signing Day with the confirmation it will retain one of its most important 2014 recruits.
Jamarco Jones, a four-star offensive lineman from Chicago De La Salle, initially gave a verbal commitment to Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and staff last June, but he had second thoughts in the weeks leading up to Wednesday, the first day recruits can sign binding letters of intent.
He made an official visit to Michigan State, his second choice last summer, over the weekend but ultimately opted to remain Columbus-bound.

Scout.com ranks Jones the No. 6 offensive tackle in his class and the No. 63 overall prospect regardless of position.
Six Ohio State verbal commitments are ranked higher than him on the overall list, but offensive line -- particularly tackle -- was a point of emphasis this year after four seniors graduated from the 2013 squad.
Jones is part of a five-man offensive line group, joining four-star Demetrious Knox of Fort Worth, Texas, four-start tackle Kyle Trout of Lancaster, Ohio, three-star guard Brady Taylor of Columbus Bishop Ready and three-star guard Marcelys Jones of Cleveland Glenville.
Ohio State's class is ranked third in the nation behind No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Tennessee heading into National Signing Day.
