Cheatham scores 20, Marquette beats IUPUI 104-79


MILWAUKEE -- Haanif Cheatham scored 20 points and Marquette shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half to beat IUPUI 104-79 Tuesday night to close out the 2K Classic.
The Golden Eagles last topped 100 points in its 101-93 win at St. John's on March 9.
Katin Reinhardt scored 16 and made a career-high eight free throws. Marquette rolled to a 57-37 halftime advantage, making 16 of 17 free throws (94 percent) in the first half.
Luke Fischer scored 14 points, Duane Wilson had 13, Jajuan Johnson added 11 and Marquette (3-2) led by as many as 32 points in the second half. The Golden Eagles finished shooting 57 percent from the floor (36-63).
Ron Patterson scored 15 for IUPUI (2-3), including three 3s and three dunks, Darell Combs scored 15 and Matt O'Leary had 12.
