Charge acquire former Ohio State G Buford, Ukraine C Fesenko in separate trades

The Canton Charge have acquired guard William Buford (6'5", 215, Ohio State) and a fourth round pick in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft from the Santa Cruz Warriors in a four-team trade in which they sent the Los Angeles D-Fenders' previously acquired second round draft choice to the Delaware 87ers.
Buford has played in 32 games this season for Santa Cruz (one start), averaging 9.1 points on .410 shooting with 3.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.7 steals in 22.1 minutes per game. He also spent the 2012-13 season in Spain playing for Blusens Monbus Obradoiro in Liga Endesa. A four-year letterman at Ohio State (2008-12), Buford played in 145 career games for the Buckeyes (137 starts) and averaged 13.7 points on .440 shooting with 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.9 steals in 32.6 minutes per game.
In a separate trade, the Charge acquired center Kyrylo Fesenko (7'0", 280, Ukraine) and the Reno Bighorns' original second round choice in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft from the Delaware 87ers in exchange for Canton's own 2014 second round pick.
Fesenko has played in 16 games for Delaware this season (five starts), averaging 7.3 points on .625 shooting with 4.9 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.4 blocks in 17.6 minutes per game. In 67 career D-League games (40 starts), he has averaged 9.8 points on .522 shooting with 7.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 blocks in 23.6 minutes per game. Fesenko also brings NBA experience after having played in 135 games over five seasons with the Utah Jazz and Indiana Pacers (2007-12).
Both moves are contingent on pending physicals. Canton has the rights to seven 2014 draft picks: five of their original selections (first, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth) as well as Reno's second round choice and Santa Cruz's fourth. The current roster now stands at ten.
Canton begins a five-game home stand at the Memorial Civic Center today at 1:00 p.m. versus the Springfield Armor.
