LOS ANGELES (AP) -- UCLA coach Jim Mora announced Friday that redshirt freshman Brett Hundley will be the Bruins' starting quarterback.

Hundley was competing with Kevin Prince, Richard Brehaut and Jerry Neuheisel for the starting job heading into Mora's debut season. Prince, a senior, has made the bulk of the starts at quarterback for the Bruins over the last three seasons.

Former coach Rick Neuheisel recruited Hundley, who was one of the most highly touted quarterbacks in the country while at Chandler (Ariz.) High School.

Mora replaced Neuheisel after the Bruins went 6-7 last season.
