MINSK, Belarus (AP) The Champions Hockey League has been re-launched with 44 clubs from 12 European countries divided into 11 groups.
The league was originally launched in 2008 with 10 million euros ($13.7 million) in annual prize money but folded when Russian sponsor Gazprom withdrew.
The league's goal is to become a ''supreme'' European competition, but no clubs from the eight-country Russian-based Kontinental Hockey League will be involved in the 2014-15 season.
In Wednesday's draw, 2009 champion ZSC Lions Zurich was put in Group B with Farjestad Karlstad, Vienna Capitals and Valerenga Oslo.
