Center/forward Anderson Varejao, recovering from a sprained shoulder, is expected to join the Cavaliers for Friday's game at Atlanta.
Varejao's availability has not yet been determined, but Cavs coach Mike Brown said Thursday that Varejao could possibly play.
The Cavs (31-45) trail the Hawks by two games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference -- making Friday perhaps the most-meaningful game since the Cavs were actually in the playoffs four years ago.

Varejao missed Wednesday's victory at Orlando with what the team is officially calling a "sprained right AC joint." He suffered the injury in a win over Indiana on Sunday.
He is averaging 8.6 points and 10.0 rebounds in 60 games.
