Cavs Report: Leuer to D-League; Waiters out

The Cavaliers have assigned forward Jon Leuer to the Canton Charge, the Cavs’ D-League affiliate.
Leuer is a 6-foot-10 forward who was signed by the Cavs prior to the season. He was waived by Houston in July.
Leuer has played in five games with the Cavs, compiling averages of 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds.
The Cavs (4-15) are at Minnesota on Friday, before returning to Quicken Loans on Saturday to face Detroit.
Waiters out
Cavs rookie guard Dion Waiters remains out with a sprained ankle. He did not travel with the team to Minnesota.
Waiters sprained his left ankle in last Saturday’s loss to Portland. He is also doubtful for the Detroit game Saturday.
Waiters is averaging 15.2 points and 3.4 assists per game.
Kirilenko a go
Timberwolves forward Andrei Kirilenko will play Friday vs. the Cavs, according to a report from FOX Sports North.
Kirilenko has missed several games with back spasms. He is averaging 13 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
The Wolves (8-9) have won two of their last three.
Shooting woes
The Cavs have lost three straight and 13 of their last 15 games. Clearly, the absences of Kyrie Irving (finger) and Waiters have played a major role -- as the rookie point guard and second-year shooting guard, respectively, are their top two scorers.
The Cavs shot a season-worst 33.7 percent from the floor in a loss Monday at Detroit, followed by 36.5 percent in Wednesday’s loss to Chicago.
They also have yet to win a game against a Central Division opponent.
Charge sign Franklin
Canton has signed forward Travis Franklin from the D-League player pool, and placed former Cleveland State guard D’Aundrey Brown on the inactive list.
Franklin is 6-7 and played in 35 games with the Charge last season, averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds.
