LONDON (AP) Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins will team up in the Madison event at next month's track world championships.

The former Sky teammates are in the team of 21 riders representing Britain at the March 2-6 event in London.

Cavendish and Wiggins won gold in the Madison at the 2008 world championships in Manchester but finished ninth at the Beijing Olympics that summer.

Cavendish will also compete in the omnium while Wiggins' main focus will be on the team pursuit. Wiggins is aiming for an eighth Olympic medal at the 2016 Rio Games to become the most decorated British Olympian. The four-time Olympic gold medalist also won the Tour de France in 2012.
