CLEVELAND -- Knicks star Carmelo Anthony fell and injured his right knee in the second quarter of Monday’s 102-97 win over host Cleveland.
While no official diagnosis has been made, Anthony said afterward the knee has been bothering him for a couple weeks. Anthony reportedly had an MRI on the knee over the weekend.
“It’s been sore, no stiffness,” he said. ”It’s been going on a while now.”
Anthony scored six points on 1-for-5 shooting and committed three turnovers in 14 minutes. The Knicks trailed by 22 points when Anthony departed with 6:42 remaining in the first half.
Anthony entered the night tied for the NBA’s scoring lead, with Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, at 28.6 points per game.
