The Cardinals signed rookie defensive end Everette Thompson and released rookie guard Braeden Clayson on Saturday.

Thompson was an undrafted free agent who played collegiately at Washington. The 6-foot-6, 272-pounder was a two-year starter at defensive end for the Huskies who finished his career with 101 tackles, seven sacks, 17 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 46 career games. Thompson started all 13 games as a senior in 2011 and had a career high 41 tackles and two sacks, then tried out for the Cardinals during their rookie mini-camp in May.

Clayson was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State after the draft.
