Cardinals scratch Holliday from Sunday's starting lineup

ST. LOUIS -- A late lineup change will leave the Cardinals without Matt Holliday, one of their best bats, for Sunday's series finale in Kansas City.
Holliday suffered a left forearm contusion when he got hit by a 78-mph knuckle curve from Edinson Volquez in the fifth inning of Saturday night's 3-2 loss, according to MLB.com's Game Tracker. Holliday remained in the game, which ended after 5 1/2 innings due to rain.
He's batting .314 with a team-best .434 on-base percentage and has reached base safely in all 40 of his games, two shy of Albert Pujols' franchise record to start the season. Jhonny Peralta will become the designated hitter and take Holliday's spot in the 3-hole, while Pete Kozma will take over for Peralta at short.
The Cardinals will have catcher Tony Cruz available off the bench, along with possibly Holliday and Jason Heyward available to pinch hit.
