Cardinals center Sendlein done for the year

Cardinals center Lyle Sendlein will miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his left knee.

Sendlein, a team captain who has played in 80 straight games, confirmed Monday that he tore his MCL early in Sunday's loss to the Rams, the Cards' seventh straight defeat. Sendlein played the remainder of the game despite the injury.

The Cardinals are expected to place Sendlein on injured reserve. Veteran Rich Ohrnberger is listed as the backup on the depth chart, although it's possible that the line could be shuffled to allow guard Adam Snyder to move to the inside, where he's played some in the past.

The offensive line has been a problem spot all year following a season-ending triceps injury to left tackle Levi Brown. On Sunday, the Cardinals — who have allowed the most sacks in the league — started rookies Nate Potter and Bobby Massie at tackle, and the inexperience issue will be exacerbated with Sendlein out.

The Cardinals play at the Jets on Sunday.
