Cardinals awarded former Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard on waivers

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Cardinals have been awarded former New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard on waivers.

Dennard (5-feet-10, 200 pounds) played the past three seasons in New England after being drafted in the seventh round out of Nebraska in 2012. He started 20 games and was credited with 92 tackles (80 solo) and five interceptions.

Dennard played in six games and started four last season before being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury on Dec. 27.
