'Call of Duty' star Phillip 'Phizzurp' Klemenov dies in car accident at 23

The eSports universe was in mourning on Sunday after the the death of "Call of Duty" pro Phillip "Phizzurp" Klemenov, at age 23 in a car accident that occurred in Aurora, Colorado.

H2K game posted a message on Facebook announcing his death:

Today we lost a beloved H2K family member. Phillip "Phizzurp" Klemenov passed away earlier today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all of those who were lucky enough to have him in their lives.

Rest in peace Phil, we will always miss you.

Klemenov, who started his "Call of Duty" career on Team FeaR in 2011, ended his final live stream hours before the fatal car crash, Yahoo News reported.

Klemenov's girilfriend, Adrianna Lemus, posted an emotional video to Twitter.

Klemenov had more than 183,000 followers on Twitter and the reaction from social media was swift.
