Bynum agrees to two-year contract with Pistons

The Detroit Pistons didn't get Jose Calderon back, but they will still have a pair of familiar faces running the point this fall.
Barring a further move, Brandon Knight will go into the season as the starter, and he will be backed up by Will Bynum. Bynum agreed to a two-year contract with the Pistons on Monday night.
He will make a total of $5.75 million, according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein. Bartelstein, who represents many NBA players, is the father of Josh Bartelstein, a little-used senior on the Michigan basketball team that went to the NCAA title game in April.
Bynum has played the last five seasons with the Pistons after going to Israel to keep his career alive. Last year, he averaged 9.8 points and 3.6 assists in 18.8 minutes per game. Listed generously at 6-feet tall, he will never be confused with a John Stockton-type pure point guard. He plays at full speed all of the time, mixing spectacular plays with big mistakes.
With the addition of Bynum, the Pistons still have a little over $5 million of cap space to add depth to the roster.
