Trey Burke's season is getting even more attention.

A few days after winning both the Big Ten and national Player of the Week awards, the Michigan point guard was placed on the 25-man shortlist for the John Wooden Player of the Year award. Burke is one of four Big Ten players on the list, joining Illinois guard Brandon Paul, Ohio State forward Deshaun Thomas and Indiana forward Cody Zeller.

Burke, who is also a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, given to the nation's best point guard, has led the Wolverines to a No. 2 ranking and a 16-0 record that matches the best in school history. The sophomore is averaging 18.2 points and 7.3 assists a game, and also leads the Wolverines in steals at 1.3 per game.

The Columbus native will play in his hometown on Sunday, as Michigan goes for its first 17-0 start at No. 15 Ohio State.
