Bulgarian triple jumper Petrova has doping suspens

MONACO (AP) Bulgarian triple jumper Gabriela Petrova had her provisional doping suspension lifted Tuesday after a change in the guidelines regarding the banned substance meldonium.
Petrova won the silver medal at last year's European indoor championships. She had been suspended after testing positive for meldonium, which was banned from Jan. 1.
''We lifted the provisional suspension and the disciplinary proceedings are stayed,'' the IAAF said.
Last week, the World Anti-Doping Agency revised its guidance for meldonium cases to allow an athlete to escape suspension if the concentration of the substance in their sample was low enough to indicate the athlete stopped taking the Latvian-made heart drug before it was banned.
On Tuesday, the director of Belarus' anti-doping agency said 12 athletes from the former Soviet nation had tested positive for meldonium.
Denis Muzhzhulin told state news agency Belta that the 12, whom he did not name, were all able to continue competing until the completion of a WADA study into meldonium, which he said would be ready in ''three to four months.''
One of the 12 has previously been named as two-time Olympic silver medal-winning weightlifter Andrei Rybakov.
