On Sunday afternoon, around the time Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson typically warms up before a game, he and his wife Lindsey threw a baby shower for 40 military mothers in Tampa Bay.

"I'm a first time mom so I don't know anything," said Kayla Ainsworth, whose husband is in the Air Force. "The fact that there's someone who would do all this for us is just awesome. I mean, it's amazing."

Jackson drew inspiration for the foundation from his upbrinding in a military family. His father Terence served 21 years in the army and had to separate from the family when deployed overseas. The foundation supports military families, "focusing on the educational, emotional, and physical health of the children."

All around a pretty fantastic week for Jackson and the Buccaneers who had time to get healthy, support the community and even managed to gain ground in the NFC South standings by remaining idle. The Saints, Panthers and Falcons all lost in different kinds of miserable fashion.
