TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy left practice Saturday with a tweaked calf, coach Greg Schiano said. The severity is unknown.
McCoy, named to his first Pro Bowl after last season, limped off during a two-minute drill late in the workout at One Buc Place. After leaving the field, he walked along the sideline but did not return to live play.
Initially, the situation looked minor, though Schiano didn't have a full evaluation when asked about McCoy’s condition after practice.
"I don’t know," Schiano said. "Someone said that he tweaked a calf or something. I've got to go see. I’m not sure."
McCoy started all 16 games last season, and he earned 30 tackles with a career-high five sacks. Tampa Bay took him third overall in the 2010 draft.
