Bucs finalize 10-man practice squad, awarded OL Garrett Gilkey off waivers

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have shaped their practice squad for the upcoming season.
They filled six of their 10 available spots Sunday, signing tight end Cameron Brate, running backJeff Demps, quarterback Mike Kafka, linebacker Brandon Magee, defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo and wide receiver Solomon Patton. On Monday, they added linebacker Carlos Fields (previously with the Oakland Raiders), safety Kimario McFadden (Atlanta Falcons) and cornerbacks Derrius Brooks (New Orleans Saints) and Brandon Dixon (New York Jets).
In addition, the Bucs continued to tinker with their offensive line depth. Tampa Bay was awarded lineman Garrett Gilkey off waivers from the Cleveland Browns. At 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, he entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (227th overall) in the 2013 draft. The Chadron State product played in six games with the Browns, with one start.
To make room for Gilkey, the Bucs waived offensive lineman Josh Allen.
