MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks will add forward Tony Mitchell on a 10-day contract Tuesday, a league source confirmed.

Mitchell will join the Bucks from the Fort Wayne of the NBA's Developmental League. The 24-year-old is averaging 19.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 21 games this season for the Mad Ants.

A 6-foot-6 forward, Mitchell played collegiately at the University of Alabama from 2009-2012. He averaged 12.7 points per game over three seasons with the Crimson Tide, including a 15.2 scoring average in his sophomore season.

Mitchell was averaging 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game during his junior year when he was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team in February of 2012. He was later dismissed from the Alabama program.

After going undrafted, Mitchell played in the NBA's Summer League with Sacramento in 2012 before joining the D-League. He signed with the Jilin Northeast Tigers prior to this season but left after just 11 games to rejoin Fort Wayne.

Mitchell was the D-League's Rookie of the Year in 2013 and also won the league's dunk contest. He will fill the roster spot left vacant by the buyout of Caron Butler.
