The Milwaukee Bucks announced significant changes to their front office Monday, appointing two new executives and shifting a longtime executive to a newly created position within the organization.
Patrick McDonough has been hired as chief financial officer, joining the Bucks after spending the last 13 years in the sports division of The Madison Square Garden Company, including the last six years as vice president of accounting.
In addition to the hiring of McDonough, the Bucks announced the addition of Bob Cook as vice president of business affairs. Cook was last based in Madison, Wis., as a vice president at HNTB Corporation, a national engineering and architecture company specializing in complex transportation projects and sports venues.
"We are so excited about how this team is coming together," Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry said. "The Milwaukee Bucks will be one of the best organizations in professional sports on and off the floor. That means recruiting the best talent and making the Bucks integral throughout the community. Bob Cook and Patrick McDonough are incredible additions to the organization."
After 34 years as the Bucks' executive vice president of business operations, John F. Steinmiller Sr. will lead the organization's community outreach efforts as executive vice president of community affairs and social responsibility.
According to the release issued by the Bucks, Steinmiller will reinforce the team's commitment to the region through the planning and implementation of team and league-wide initiatives. He will also aid the team's new owners in their efforts to engage as new members of the Milwaukee community.
"John Steinmiller has been a part of this team's fabric since the very beginning," co-owner Wes Edens said. "I can think of no better person to solidify this team's bond with the city than a man who has dedicated his entire career to improving the team and the community in which it exists."
