Buckeyes jump two spots in latest College Football Playoff rankings

The newest College Football Playoff rankings have Ohio State at No. 6, a jump of two spots from last week and two spots closer to the first-ever four-team playoff.
The biggest changes in this week's rankings, which are released every Tuesday night, came in those top four slots this week after last week's No. 1, Mississippi State, lost at then No. 5 Alabama.
Alabama is the new No. 1, followed by Oregon, Florida State and Mississippi State. TCU is No. 5.
The only ranking that really matters, of course, is the final ranking that will be unveiled after the conference championship games are played on Dec. 6. Ohio State (9-1) and No. 16 Wisconsin (8-2) are on track for a meeting in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis.
Wisconsin rose from No. 20 last week after routing Nebraska, then No. 16, last weekend.
Last week's first four teams were No. 1 Mississippi State, No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 Florida State and No. 4 TCU. In addition to Alabama's win over Mississippi State, then-No. 6 Arizona State lost at Oregon State.
Oregon, TCU, Mississippi State, Alabama, Baylor and Ohio State all have one loss at this point of the season. TCU's one loss came at Baylor in overtime.
Alabama still plays Auburn, Mississippi State still plays Ole Miss and all of the top 10 except TCU and Baylor face potential conference championship games.
