TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' pass rush took a hit Friday morning.

The team placed Adrian Clayborn on injured reserve with a biceps injury, ending the defensive end's season after just one tackle in the Bucs' Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers at Raymond James Stadium.

Clayborn, a fourth-year player, was expected to be one of Tampa Bay's starting defensive ends all season opposite free-agent signee Michael Johnson. The former first-round pick has 109 tackles and 13 sacks in his professional career. He played in only three games in 2012 before sustaining a torn ACL in his right knee.

Clayborn's placement on injured reserve is the Bucs' second such move this week. Wednesday, cornerback Mike Jenkins was declared out for the season with a pectoral injury.

In Clayborn's place, defensive end Scott Solomon was re-signed Friday. He had three tackles against Carolina last Sunday before being waived Wednesday.

The Bucs host the St. Louis Rams on Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium.
