The bad news keeps piling on for the Buckeyes, as safety Christian Bryant has been denied another year of eligibility, likely ending his Ohio State football career.
The senior team captain, who missed time with significant injuries in both his freshman and senior seasons, applied for a medical redshirt in hopes of being granted an extra year of eligibility. Bryant played in five games last year before breaking his ankle in the Wisconsin game on September 27.

Urban Meyer confirmed the news at his Thursday press conference.
"I believe the appeal was denied," Meyer said. "Not sure if there's another one to come back for another year. He won't be able to play in this game -- there was a little bit of outside hope, but the injury was pretty severe. I'm not sure there's another appeal process, but appeals haven't been very good to the Buckeyes recently."
The last part of Meyer's comment was in reference to Noah Spence's recent suspension for violating Big Ten rules.
While it's clear that Bryant had a legitimate case, Meyer pointed out that the numbers weren't on his side, as explained by Scout.com:
Bryant will finish his Ohio State football career with 167 tackles, three forced fumbles and two interceptions, barring another appeal.
