The Cleveland Browns, perhaps acknowledging the unenvious situation they're in this morning, elected to put just a very brief comment on the passing of ex-owner Art Modell. The release neither notes Modell's contributions for the NFL and City of Cleveland, nor his infamous move of the team in 1995.
Here is the entirety of the statement:
"The Cleveland Browns would like to extend their deepest condolences to the entire Modell family."
Sometimes, indeed, it's most appropriate to say very little.
