Browns' Miles Austin to injured reserve

BEREA, Ohio -- Just as the Browns were getting one receiver going, they received tough news by losing another.
On Wednesday, the Browns placed wide receiver Mile Austin on injured reserve with a kidney injury.
"Miles sustained a kidney injury in Buffalo and remains in the hospital," head coach Mike Pettine said in a release. "Our thoughts are with him and we wish him a speedy recovery. Miles is a guy who embodies what 'Play like a Brown' means and instills that in our receiving corps."
Austin had arguably his best two games after Josh Gordon returned from a 10-game suspension from the NFL.
Austin, who signed with the Browns this offseason, appeared in 12 games with 11 starts. He was second on the team in receptions with 47 and receiving yards with 568, while adding two touchdowns. He has appeared in 118 career games and has totaled 348 receptions for 5,049 yards and 36 touchdowns.
To replace Austin on the roster, the Browns signed running back Shaun
Draughn, who is in his second NFL season out of North Carolina.
Draughn (5-11, 205) has appeared in 26 games and has 254 rushing yards on 73 carries with two touchdowns. He has added 24 career receptions for 158 yards and has averaged 23.1-yards on 28 kickoff returns. He has appeared in six games this season (two with Chicago and four with San Diego).
In the pre-practice injury report, running back Isaiah Crowell was listed with a hip injury. Besides Austin and Crowell, the other players listed that will be limited or not practicing are: Gary Barnidge (rib), Jordan Cameron (concussion), Karlos Dansby (knee), Tashaun Gipson (knee), Marlon Moore (hamstring), Jabaal Sheard (foot) and Joe Thomas (rest).
