Brogna resigns; Diamondbacks name Bell director of development

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Monday that Mike Bell has been promoted to director of player development after Rico Brogna resigned from the post he was appointed to last month.

Bell was the Diamondbacks' minor league field coordinator last season after managing Single-A Visalia from 2007-09.
