The Milwaukee Brewers have placed right fielder Norichika Aoki on the paternity list, as his wife is expected to give birth to their second child on Thursday.
To fill Aoki's spot on the roster, the Brewers have recalled outfielder Josh Prince from Triple-A Nashville. According to MLB rules, Aoki can stay on the paternity list up to three days.
Aoki has been on high alert over the past few days. His wife, Sachi, is back in Milwaukee with her mother and has a due date of Thursday. The couple has a daughter named Emily and are expecting their second child to be a son.
In his second season with the Brewers since coming over from Japan as a free agent, Aoki is hitting .292 with four home runs, 14 RBI and six stolen bases.
Prince, 25, will be with the Brewers for the second time this season. Recalled on April 6, Prince had a double in five at-bats. Optioned back to Triple-A on May 2, Prince is hitting .243 with five home runs and 26 RBI for Nashville.
