Braves host inaugural Atlanta Braves Heritage Weekend

The Braves will host the inaugural Atlanta Braves Heritage Weekend Presented by Belk and KIA on Friday and Saturday as they face the Nationals.

The schedule of events includes:

Friday, May 31

· 11:00 a.m.-6th inning of game: The Tuskegee Airmen “Rise Above” Exhibit Presented by KIA.  Located in Monument Grove

· Gate Opening until end of game: Negro League Exhibit Presented by KIA. Located in the Hank Aaron Room on the Field Level

· 7:21 p.m.: Tribute to Tuskegee Airman members (on-field)
 
· 7:23 p.m.: National Anthem with flyover of P-51 plane (one of the types of planes used by the Tuskegee airmen)

Saturday, June 1

· 11:00 a.m.-6th inning of game: The Tuskegee Airmen “Rise Above” Exhibit Presented by KIA.  Located in Monument Grove

· Gate Opening until end of game: Negro League Exhibit Presented by KIA. Located in the Hank Aaron Room on the Field Level

· 5:15-6:15 p.m.: Negro League player autograph session in Fan Plaza. Players include: Cleophus Brown (Birmingham Black Barons, Louisville Clippers), Henry Elmore (Birmingham Black Barons, Philadelphia Stars), Ernest Fann (Raleigh Tigers), Raymond Haggins (Birmingham Black Barons, Memphis Red Sox), Carl Holden (Birmingham Black Barons), Carl Long (Birmingham Black Barons), Normal Lumpkin (Atlanta Black Crackers), Red Moore (Atlanta Black Crackers), Larry Williams (Kansas City Monarchs), James Sanders (Kansas City Monarchs, Raleigh Tigers, Detroit Stars, Birmingham Black Barons, New Orleans Bears), Ernes Harris (Birmingham Black Barons), Frank Marsh (Birmingham Black Barons, Kansas City Monarchs, Detroit Stars), Eugene Scruggs (Detroit Stars, Kansas City Monarchs), Leroy Miller (Birmingham Black Barons, Philadelphia Stars), Johnny Fairley (Birmingham Black Barons, Detroit Stars, Philadelphia Stars, Raleigh Tigers), Samuel Bruner (Birmingham Black Barons)

· 6:56 p.m.: National Anthem with flyover of P-51 plane (one of the types of planes used by the Tuskegee airmen)
 
· 6:58 p.m.: A pregame presentation of the Hank Aaron Champions for Justice Award winners Ambassador Andrew Young and Senator Leroy Johnson
· 7:01 p.m.: A pregame tribute of the Negro League including 10-15 former players
 
· In-Game Tributes: Special Negro League uniforms:  The Atlanta Braves will wear the Negro League Atlanta Black Cracker uniforms, the Washington Nationals will don the Homestead (Washington, DC) Grays uniforms. These jerseys will be auctioned off on braves.com/heritage between May 30 and June 12. The proceeds will go to the Atlanta Braves Foundation

· Postgame: Run DMC concert: Free with a game ticket
· Concert Field Pit Passes:  $25 -- separate from game ticket www.braves.com/concerts
