The Braves made the hiring of former Baltimore manager Dave Trembley official Friday, and they also announced the additions of two baseball veterans for the front office.

Trembley will be the Minor League Field Coordinator. He will help plan the development of all the minor league players and run minor league spring training.

Atlanta also added Lee Elia and Bob Johnson. Elia has been named a Special Assistant to the General Manager/Major and Minor League Instructor. Johnson will also be a Special Assistant to the GM/Major League Advance Scout.

The 73-year-old Elia has been in baseball for more than 50 years. He most recently worked for the Dodgers for two seasons in a similar position. Elia played with the White Sox and Cubs in the major leagues in the late-1960s. He managed the Cubs from 1982-1983 and has served as a major league coach for the Phillies, Yankees, Blue Jays, Devil Rays, Orioles, and Mariners.
