Brandon leads Sun Devils past Beavers

TEMPE (AP) - Kimberly Brandon scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Arizona State past Oregon State 49-46 Friday night in the Pac-10 opener for both teams.
The Sun Devils (9-2, 1-0) used a 15-4 run in the second half to erase a 33-28 deficit and win their sixth in a row.
Sage Indendi, who was averaging 9.4 points a game, had a season-best 20 points for the Beavers on 8 of 10 shooting, including 4 of 4 from three-point range.
Arizona State's leading scorer, Dymond Simon, was held to five points until she hit two 3-pointers during the decisive run that gave the Sun Devils a 43-37 lead with 4:46 left. Simon finished with 13 points on 5-for-14 shooting.
The Beavers' zone defense held Arizona State to 35 percent shooting. Alyssa Martin added 16 points for Oregon State (7-5) but missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have forced overtime.
