Branden Dawson to miss 4-5 weeks with broken hand

Michigan State forward Branden Dawson will miss four to five weeks after breaking his right hand in frustration while watching game film Thursday morning.
Dawson met with reporters in East Lansing shortly before he was scheduled to go in for surgery.
"This morning, I was meeting with a couple teammates and the coaches," Dawson explained. "They showed me a few clips on how I’ve been playing and what I can do to play even better. I kind of got frustrated with myself because I know I can definitely give more to the team.
"We were also watching some TV clips from the Indiana game of (ESPN analyst) Dan Dakich saying that the key to winning a national championship is going to come up to me and my intensity.
"I haven’t been playing how I know I can play. I got frustrated and slammed my hand against the table."
With Adreian Payne (foot injury) doubtful for Saturday's game against Michigan, the Spartans could be missing two key post players for the matchup between the Big Ten's last two unbeaten teams.
Dawson is averaging 10.2 points and 8.7 rebounds, and has played a bigger role while Payne has been sidelined.
If neither can play against the Wolverines, the Spartans could struggle inside against Jordan Morgan and Glenn Robinson III.
