Brain fart: Holm met Jay-Z and wife, asked Beyonce what her name is
Holly Holm has experienced a whirlwind week-plus media tour since defeating Ronda Rousey to become the UFC women's bantamweight champion on Nov. 15.
Her new celebrity status also afforded her an invitation to a VIP viewing party at this past Saturday's Canelo Alvarez-Miguel Cotto middleweight championship bout in Las Vegas, where Holm got to meet Jay-Z.
"I met Jay-Z and he says this is my wife and I say, 'Oh, hi, what is your name?' Because that is what I do when I meet someone's wife. And as I'm shaking her hand I'm thinking, 'Why did I just say that?' Why did I just say that to . . . Beyonce?"
The 34-year-old champ explained that Jay-Z asked her about the fight but she was fixed on her mental goof and couldn't pay attention, so she interrupted him and said, "Beyonce, I can't believe I just did that."
The singer-actress-icon told her not to worry.
