BOSTON (AP) -- Billy Baron hit a key 3-pointer in the second overtime, nailed four free throws and finished with 24 points to lift Rhode Island to a 78-72 win over Boston College on Monday afternoon.

Mike Powell added 21 points for the Rams (3-12) and Jonathan Holton had 11. Rhode Island won its second straight game after leading scorer Jamal Wilson was kicked off the team on Dec. 27 by coach Jim Baron for violating team rules. The 6-foot-5 senior guard averaged 16.4 points per game.

Ryan Anderson paced the Eagles (5-9) with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Lonnie Jackson and Dennis Clifford had 12 points apiece, and Patrick Heckmann 11.

It was the third consecutive season Rhode Island has defeated BC.

Heckmann banked in a one-handed jumper as the horn sounded, forcing the second OT.
