Bomb threat postpones Lawndale's game against Beverly Hills

USC commit Chimezie Metu and some of his Lawndale teammates were at Hawthorne High School on Wednesday night taking in an Ocean League contest between the host Cougars and El Segundo.
Metu and Co. were supposed to be in Beverly Hills, playing in their own Ocean League game.
The highly anticipated game between the co-leaders in the Ocean League was postponed due to a reported bomb threat on the Beverly Hills campus on Wednesday. The campus was evacuated.
It was the second such threat at the high school this month.
"It's pretty good that we found out," Metu said. "It's a little scary to know that somebody would even think that way. We just got fortunate."
The game has been rescheduled for Monday.

Hawthorne narrowly escapes short-handed El Segundo
It will be a matchup consisting of three of the top players in the 2015 class --Metu and Brodricks Jones for Lawndale and Arizona-bound Chance Comanche for Beverly Hills.
As a result of the game being postponed next week just got busier for both teams.
Beverly Hills (13-5, 2-0 Ocean League) will play three games next week. All three games will be at home beginning Monday with Lawndale (11-6, 2-0 Ocean League). That will be followed by visits from Culver City and El Segundo on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
The Cardinals will have four games next week. Lawndale will go to Beverly Hills, host Hawthorne next Wednesday and visit Culver City on Friday. The next day they're scheduled to take on Price in a non-league game as part of the Fairfax State Preview.
"I just think we need to come mentally prepared and just rest our bodies over the weekend and just do the right things to be able to come out (4-0) next week," Metu said.
