We got no help at all last night from anybody between 5-9 in the East. Milwaukee won (again), so did Miami, Toronto and Chicago. The Bobcats are in a tie with Toronto, but must yield the 7th spot to the Raptors based on conference record. There's good news. Tonight's game with Washington is the last of 5 road games in the last 6 overall.
After tonight's game, the Bobcats come home for 5 straight and a chance to move upward in their surge for a first ever playoff spot.
The Wizards are in a bit of disarray after all of the issues that have hit them. The early injuries, Gilbert Arenas, Javaris Crittenden, and then the mass breakup of the team at the trade deadline. The Wizards have cultivated a young power forward into a force for the future with Andray Blatche. They've lost 11 straight and no team likes that whether the playoffs are in the offing or not.
I don't think I've ever seen a game like the one the Bobcats played Satruday against the Heat. The Bobcats went over 13 minutes between field goals and still were just two possesions back with 5 minutes to play.
This will be the first meeting of two scheduled this week between the Bobcats and Wizards. The return matchup comes Friday in Charlotte. The Bobcats will have MInnesota in town tomorrow night. The Wolves are in town waiting for us as we speak.
Look for big nights from Stephen Jackson and Gerald Wallace tonight. Together, they were 8-33 from the field Saturday night. Catch the game on Fox Sports Carolinas beginning with Bobcats Live at 6:30. Stephanie Ready returns tonight from her assignment at the NCAA Women's Championship.
