A day after the biggest win for Oklahoma and coach Bob Stoops in maybe 15 years, the Sooner coach talked about possibly moving to the NFL.

"You never know," Stoops said, according to the Norman Transcript of the Cleveland Browns opening. The Transcript went on to say Stoops talked about the Sooners in the future tense as well.

Earlier Friday, Stoops was a guest on ESPN's Colin Cowherd show and said he hadn't heard anything about the rumors of heading to the Browns. He told Dan Patrick of NBC Sports, "That's something you never know will come your way. I love what I'm doing and the people I work with at Oklahoma. Right now, it's not something I'm looking to pursue, but you never know down the road."

Stoops signed at contract extension at Oklahoma in July through the 2020 season, but it's his Ohio roots what has always created a link to the Browns job. Stoops is 53 and has been at OU since 1999 going 160-39 and winning the national title in 2000.

OU beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl Thursday, 45-31, making him the only coach to win all four BCS Bowls.

Cleveland fired Rob Chudzinski last week. He had been there just one season. The Browns have had six coaches since 1999.
