After 14 years of waiting, Bert Blyleven finally received the call he has been waiting for this Wednesday morning. On the line, was the National Baseball Hall of Fame, which notified Bert that he would be elected into the Hall during his 15th and final year of eligibility.

Naturally, Blyleven has been swamped with phone calls from folks all day who have been wanting to congratulate him. But before things got too crazy for Bert, FOX Sports North had a chance to sit down with him for an exclusive interview shortly after he received his "call from the Hall."

Hear what Bert had to say about receiving the honor, as well as what former teammates, coaches and, of course, his mother had to say about legendary pitcher's new status as a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame by watching the exclusive videos below:

Blyleven reacts to HOF election

"To the fans out there, I loved playing the game of baseball. You know, I got to play a kid's game for a long time and to be elected into something that is a very elite group by the baseball writers, I thank them. It took 14 years; a lot of ups and downs, but I'm a Hall of Famer. It's just an unbelievable feeling. My wife Gayle and I thank everyone that voted for me this year."

Blyleven shares the news
with his mother
"That was the first call I wanted to make. There were some phone calls that kind of tried to get in, but I made sure I deleted those so I could talk to my mother.

"The first thing she said was 'Your dad would be very proud of you.'
