The frozen playing surface is one of hockey's most unique characteristics. But did you know that it doubles as one its biggest assets when it comes to putting together pregame productions?
Ahead of Thursday night's postseason opener against the Minnesota Wild, the Blues' production team took full advantage of that pristine 200-by-85-foot sheet of ice, using it as a projector screen for an elaborate video presentation that featured just about everything, including some spectacular special effects.
For those of you who were unable to attend the game -- or if you were there and just want to relive the magic -- you can watch it, compliments of the St. Louis Blues, below.
