ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues have placed left wing Magnus Paajarvi on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.

Paajarvi was injured at Nashville on Saturday, apparently on a hit by the Predators' Victor Bartley. He played a few more shifts, left the game and has not practiced since. It is not known how long he will remain on IR.

Paajarvi, 22, was obtained by the Blues in an off-season trade with Edmonton for forward David Perron. A first-round pick (10th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft, Paajarvi has played in four games this season but has not yet registered a goal or assist.

The native of Sweden has appeared in four NHL seasons, recording 58 points (26 goals, 32 assists) and 34 penalty minutes in 167 career games.
