MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Middle Tennessee Director of Athletics Chris Massaro announced today the Blue Raiders will face Illinois during the 2015 football season. The game is set for Sept. 26 in Champaign.
This will mark the third meeting between the two programs with the Illini winning the two previous contests. It will also be the fifth game all-time for the Blue Raiders against the Big Ten with the most recent meeting in 2011 at Purdue.
The two schools first met in 1998 in Champaign with Illinois taking a 48-20 win, and then Middle Tennessee traveled to Illinois in 2000. The 21st ranked Illini downed the Blue Raiders, 35-6.
