Blue Jackets vs. Penguins first round schedule announced

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets will make their first Eastern Conference Stanley Cup Playoffs appearance against Metropolitan Division rival Pittsburgh Penguins, the club and National Hockey League announced tonight. The Blue Jackets, who finished the regular season with a franchise-best 43-32-7 record (93 pts.), are the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Penguins, who won the Metropolitan Division and are the second seed in the conference, carried a 51-24-6 record (108 pts.) into their season finale tonight vs. the Ottawa Senators.

The best-of-seven series will begin on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center with Game Two scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. The series shifts to Columbus' Nationwide Arena on Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. Game Four will be played on Wednesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. The complete series schedule follows:

All Blue Jackets Stanley Cup Playoffs games will be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus and online at BlueJackets.com. The FOX Sports Ohio television broadcast schedule will be released prior to the start of the series.

A limited number of tickets for playoff games, including first round home games 1 and 2, are currently available for fans who become a 2014-15 season ticket holder. Huntington Green Seats and the club's Active Military Ticket Offer will be available for the first round. Huntington Green Seats, priced at $40, will go on sale two hours prior to game time with purchases limited to two tickets per customer. A limited quantity of half-priced AEP Power Level tickets ($30) will also be available on game days to active members of the military who present a current military ID at the time of purchase. The discount is only applicable to the bearer of the military ID. Additional tickets may be purchased at full price if available. Tickets for both programs must be purchased in person at the Big Lots Box Office at Nationwide Arena.
