After a record 21 consecutive wins, the world's fastest sprint racehorse is to travel from Australia to test her mettle in Britain's premier event, Royal Ascot.
Black Caviar, a five-year-old mare, has never lost a race and her owners and trainer believe she is now more than ready to take part in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes in Britain in June.
The horse has become a huge celebrity Down Under, boasting her own range of merchandise, Facebook page and fan club.
Whenever she races tickets sell out, and punters wave Black Caviar flags and dress in her jockey's colors.
Trainer Peter Moody said, "We pride ourselves on being a great sporting nation, the Aussies, and we love nothing more than taking on the Poms. To take her over there [to Britain] to showcase her to another audience, I think it'll be an unbelievable thing."
Last week, Moody said he fully expected Black Caviar to win at Ascot, but also warned he would not run the mare if she was not 100 percent fit after her first overseas journey.
One UK media report suggested that Black Caviar had beaten no major international horses in Australia and had to win at Ascot to prove herself.
"You have never seen anything like this horse before," Moody said in reply.
"It would be an absolute tragedy if she went there and got beaten by your B-grade sprinters for half the prize money and [traveling] three-quarters of the way around the world," he added.
Now all eyes are on the UK and many of Black Caviar's fans are already booking flights to make sure they are at Ascot to see her.
Regular jockey Luke Nolen will also travel to Britain with Black Caviar.
On Saturday, the horse did not win by as big a margin as she has in previous races but that did not worry the jockey.
"She was never out of second gear," Nolen said.
"I'm not a punter. I don't worry about margins. As long as she bloody wins I don't care," he added.
The horse, nicknamed the Wonder from Down Under, is owned by a consortium of families and friends in Melbourne many of whom will head to Ascot to cheer her on.
