Glen "Big Baby" Davis is out with a strained groin, which means he could miss the Clippers' season opener on Oct. 30.
"We're going to take our time with that, so I don't (have) a timeframe but no time soon," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said in Friday's pre-game news conference.
Davis, the 6-foot-9 forward/center, sustained the injury in practice. He missed Friday's preseason game in which the Clippers beat Utah, 101-97.

The Clippers are 1-3 in the preseason.
Regarding whether or not Davis can play in the season-opener against Oklahoma City in 13 days, Rivers said: "I think it will be close. I think he'll be playing by then, but I don't know if he'll be in basketball shape."
