Bianchi to begin Double-A rehab assignment

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Jeff Bianchi will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Huntsville on Saturday as he recovers from a left hip injury.
Bianchi, 26, has been on the 15-day disabled list since March 27 with left hip bursitis. The condition limited Bianchi to just eight spring training games and caused him to drop off of Italy's roster for the World Baseball Classic.
Making his major league debut with the Brewers last season, Bianchi hit .188 with three home runs and nine RBI in 33 games in 2012.
The versatile infielder could be valuable to the Brewers with multiple infielders battling injuries, and he likely would have made the Opening Day roster if he would have been healthy.
Infielder Taylor Green -- also on the disabled list with a hip injury -- suffered a setback while taking ground balls earlier this week. Green was scheduled to play Wednesday in Arizona but had his comeback stalled by the setback.
